All are welcome. From first timers to experienced anglers, sightseers, Mum, Dad, kids, grandparents, the boys’ or the girls’ day out, all are extremely welcome on BK’s Gold Coast Fishing Charters and gladly assisted by your skipper and deckhand in a safe, fun, friendly atmosphere.
Stable, safe & fast vessel. Your boat for your adventure, “Reef Cat II” is a twin hulled, wide-bodied, stable, 10 metre Cougar Catamaran with ample seating, side curtains (while travelling) & a shade roof . She is powered by 2 quiet, smokeless, 250hp Yamaha, four stroke motors. We provide MAXIMUM fishing time for you! It’s only 15 minutes boat ride to our first Pacific Ocean reef, a proven hot spot where our guests regularly catch spanish, spotted and school mackerel, cobia, tuna, jewfish, tailor and reef flathead.
Quality equipment. We supply strong Penn and Shimano rods and reels in both overhead and spin style. Left handed outfits are readily available on board at any time. Your crew make sure your rigs are tied & hooks are sharp, and are happy to teach you all you need to know to bait up, cast out and catch a fish.
Amenities for your comfort. We supply sunscreen, tea, coffee, biscuits, soft drinks and water which are all accessible throughout the trip.
Our on board toilet is electric flushing, extremely clean and highly sanitized. It is complemented with an electric fresh water tap with basin, liquid soap, mirror and disinfectant deodorizers.
Value for money. We are the best value ocean, reef & sports fishing charter on the Gold Coast. Being owner operators of a business that has been in operation since 1987, we are able to keep our prices lower than our competitors.

Our 5 hour ocean, reef and sports Gold Coast fishing charter fee starts at $99 per person.
INCLUSIONS ON ALL TRIPS ARE – quality left or right handed Penn and Shimano rods and reels, tackle, bait, sunscreen, soft drinks, water, tea, coffee, biscuits, tips and assistance from your skipper and deckhand. Your legal captures can be released, shared or kept by you, your kept fish are bled, gutted, iced down and bagged.

“Action Packed Value For Money”: We were out on the reefs within 15 minutes and straight into the action – the Cobia were biting and the floating baits worked a treat . “Another great day out with BKs”: This Saturday 24/9 did the 6Am trip. Another great day out with BKs and my first time with Bec skippering. She did a great job finding some fish few days after some stormy weather on the Gold Coast. Some Big Fish were caught including a tuna, a few bonito, a 70cm snapper and quite a few big teraglin. And we saw a whale (bonus). We also caught a few fish that were too small so went back. I used to own a 5 metre half cabin. Now I use Bks. and try to get out at least one a month. It is excellent value compared to owning a boat . The gear they provide works and the crew works hard to actively help people especially fishing newbies with baiting , tangles, snags etc. A max of 12 fishers is good for a charter boat. I’ve been on trips with them where I’ve caught nothing and others a lot, but that is just fishing. We (2 of us) took home 1 trag and 2 bonito for a 5 hour outing; a nice feed.

“Literally The Ultimate Experience – Private Charter Session”: Normally I am not a big “leave a review” type person, but I really wanted to for BK’s.
Earlier this week I had the supreme pleasure of booking BKs for a private charter as a gift for my father and a bit of a treat for myself. Right from the beginning in trying to book the (5hr) Private session, they were wonderful to deal with and very patient. I wanted a day where the swell as going to be pretty good. I know no one has a crystal ball on this but we exchanged messages for literally weeks trying to pick/plan the ideal day to be out there. Not all charters will be this transparent with you about how nice the swell is at the moment.
Amongst all the dodgy weather we have been having lately, the person I was speaking with suggested Tuesday this week and they somehow managed to pick an absolute gem of a morning during this weird weather – maybe they did have a crystal ball after all. The crew on the day told me this was likely Bec at the other end of the phone helping me out with this planning.
I went out with (I believe their names were Kaleb and Luke) and they were not only extremely professional but just really genuine guys to have the pleasure of spending the morning with on the boat and very patient at that. These guys really worked hard to find the fish. We tried different techniques, and moved the boat around numerous times to re-drift over patches we had success on but also to try different reefs off the coast.
They kept a very watchful eye all morning as well to make sure everything we were doing was safe, keeping us hydrated, and as other reviews I read below mentioned, constantly keeping all the lines re-rigged and in the water with new baits as needed etc. There was a patch there where I think the poor deckhand tried for about 20 minutes to get a bite out of his sandwhich because he was constantly on his feet keeping us fishing.
They explained the theory of why we were doing what we were doing as well which was really enjoyable. What a rush of a morning and just the ultimate experience. I kept sitting down just to let the lactic acid feeling in my arms to settle as we had ~15 connections with fish that had the reels screaming and I felt like my arms were going to fall off by the end of it. We went home with an esky full of mackeral and while we had no expectations of “filling the freezer”, it is well and truely full. The boat was comfy and it was a pleasure to cruise along the coast line between the reefs. As we were their last charter for the day they even helped us carry the catch to the car and gave us ice and tips for cooking them.
At the final reef we went out to one of the sharks that had been chasing our fish came along side the boat – and sat there about 6 feet down right beside the boat. I had never seen a shark that big so close. Wow.
I would say a huge thanks to Kaleb, Luke and if that was Bec as I think it was liaising with me trying to pick the perfect morning for us to be out there, a big thanks to her too. It really was the ultimate trip and I would say if you want to treat yourself, book a Private charter. I live locally and will definitely be back again. If I could rate them more than 5 stars I would.
